The Go Programming Language

“The Go”, is the all new programming language from Google. The search engine giant created a new programming language for modern, object oriented programming.

Google said The Go is for “Fast, Safe, Concurrent, Fun” and open source. It’s mainly targeted for C++ developers. The Go borrows some best features from Pascal, C, C++ and other languages.

The Go’s syntax is heavily derived from C, so If you are a C fan then you should be a fan of Go too. And for Windows programmers there is a bad news, Google have no plan to release Go for Windows in any near future.

And few important differences between C,C++ and The GO is

1) No Pointers.
2) No Types.
3) No Overloading.
4) No Implicit type conversions.
5) No Header Files.
6) Variables should be initiated while declaration.
7) Native support for Threading.
8 ) Arrays & Strings are native types.
9) Inbuilt garbage collection.
10) Support multiple assignments, such as a,b=b,c; (will be a=b; and b=c;).
11) Functions can return multiple values.

Google Go is still in development stage. To know more about Google Go, goto www.golang.org, this website runs on godoc documentation server, which is programmed in Go.

Nokia N97 Mini Firmware Update – Too slow after update

Recently Nokia updated the latest firmware for Nokia N97 Mini smartphone. The S60 5th edition phone is really a smartphone in all ways. The latest firmware version is 30.0.004.

The new firmware update have some enhancements and new features and few features are updated. Some notable features are:

* Updated Phone Dialer. Includes search function built-in in the dialer.
* Improved E-mail gives you easy access to e-mail accounts
* New, faster version of the web browser, including web search integrated into the web address field and support for web addresses containing non-Latin characters
* Here and Now gives you, at a glance, timely information on weather, events, movies and restaurants nearby
* New version of Ovi Store
* Emoticons can be used in text and multimedia messages
* Ovi Contacts removed
* General performance and usability improvements.

But the phone is too slow after the update. Call Answer and Call End takes 2 to 4 seconds. We have to wait few seconds to attend the call after selecting the Answer button, same problem for ending calls. And the response when connecting the USB cable is also very slow, it takes nearly 5 seconds.

I tried 3 times by re-installing, the result is same. So think about the slow response before update the firmware or wait for the next update.
